Late afternoon and into the evening

Paul came round in the afternoon
and we spent about 4 hours welding the chassises together.
The picture shows the second chassis without the cross pieces which because we could not obtain 50x25mm box section has had to be fabricated. |

The first chassis is stacked on the second chassis. |
|
Early evening I decided to tap the ends of the first 4 wheel shafts and to paint them black, then I looked round for something else to paint so do the centre sections. |
 |
Then I thought let's paint the wheels being careful not to get the paint in the location of the bearing and not on the tread - only the outer face side was painted. |
It is hoped to complete a basic truck in time to put it on the track on Sunday - New Year's eve and to be able to fully workout the design of the leg supports. |
