I have been fortunate to obtain the plans for a driving trolley which is appealing to me due to its simplicity to build and functional elegance.

This web site was designed to keep informed the other members of the team who helped in the construction, but since that time has helped other to build similar trucks.

Most of the steel for the construction is bought now so I will start the cutting up process ready for assembly.

Materials to build a single driving tolley / truck

8x wheel blanks BMS

 1/2" round BMS

4 x axles 170mm each

 Springs they say 38 x 6.5

4x buffer spring to go over 1/8" about 38mm long SELECT on test !!!!
25x25x3 BMS

2x Centre pieces 431mm each

4x Side top pieces 258mm each

1x centre cross piece 208mm

 1/4" round BMS

1x Brake link stretcher 129mm

 1/8" rivets STEEL

4x 36 1/2" rivets for "Z" pieces
40x40x3 BMS

2x buffer beam 229mm each

20x20 sq BMS solid

2x bogie cross bar 158mm each

 5/16" round BMS

1x brake rod 200mm

 1/8" drill

say 3x to make holes for rivets!!!!
