More work continues on the valve gear. The great drawings from the instructions has been annotated for clarity.

The next parts to be fitted are the
Eccentric Rods part 11 coloured pink on the drawing. A check indicated that
the holes had to be open / cleaned out a little to all easy rotation
around the crank pins.

Then come the Radius Rods part 1
coloured green on the drawing. A check was made that the crank pin fitted
before, as instructed, the back of the pin was filed flush to avoid any
possibility of fouling with other parts.

The next part to be fitted is the
left hand lifting arm. There is no way I could see to fit this part without
releasing the Left hand radius arm so that the Expansion link could be moved
out of the way and then the lifting arm was position and the radius arm
replaced.
The push rod was added after the right hand side had been fitted. Used parts count 91 |

Similarly with the Right Hand Lifting
arm

The engine is now ready
to be run on air
Applying air resulted in finding out the the return crank of the valve gear on the right hand side was 180 degrees out of phase. As soon as this was rectified the engine ran both forwards and backwards. |
