Day 14 -- A fullish day in the workshop
The support for the regulator arm. this may need to be further improved / altered in the light of what is found out after the boiler steam test and initially running of the loco. |
The chimney , smoke box, and smoke box support has been painted with heat resistant paint- the boiler band was pulled back so has to be repositioned when paint is dry in 24 hours!! |
The Smoke box door has also been painted with heat resistant paint. |
After lunch the replacement rear
poles were cut machined at each end to have a flat to drill into and fitted
with 6BA bolts and then painted black. Why do jobs always take much longer
than expected - still they are done now.
The front and rear buffer beams were given another coat of paint.
With an evening off from engineering the paint will have a good time to dry |
