Day 11 -- it seemed like a long day
|
|
|
Did not start on the loco work until
mid afternoon due to other commitments like a pottery class !!!
The main steam feed to the steam chests from the regulator was a real pain to put back --- because I had forgotten that it had had studs and this time bolts had been cut to length. About 45minutes of cursing and eventually they were back in place. |
Coupling up the ends of the steam pipes in the confirmed black space was also very difficult. Much nicely when you have a new loco and it is all clean !!!
The external pipe works starts to go back together .
The smoke box is bolted to the smoke
box saddle. The nuts have still to be tightened and cut shorter..
The holes were very difficult to align !! Several had to be eased out by the use of a needle file and eventually all were bolted. |
