Took the plunge and fitted radio control to the EDRIG

Took the easy way out and fitted a very small servo to the rear panel standing off two brass pillars which a machined up and tapper M3 x 0.5.

The flat cut on the lower pillar was intended to go around the cable entrance to the servo but as you can see not needed!!
To keep the cable out of the way for the servo I have wound it around the gas valve spindle.
The battery is stored in the side tank on the right hand side ..Wrapped in bubble wrap and then in tin foil to keep it cool.
The arm may not look very pretty but it works. I can always refine in due course after a seasons running when I may have decided on an alternative.

I have also used a two part link connected by a "choc block" connector with out the plastic cover.

If the range proves to be right then I can make up a single piece to the patten if the link.

Well construction started a few days ago but the painting was commenced to day !!!!

The coach is the same overall length as my other coaches but I have made only one entrance and a centre separator. The Idea is to have a bar at the right hand end and tables and chair for 8 persons at the other. I am following the idea shown in Garden Rail Nov 07

Here are some who might like to use the restaurant car.

They are the first efforts but at 10 feet away they look great !!!!  Of course they still have to be painted !!!
