And so we have turned the page on the basic construction and now start on the detail. Well almost as I have had a problem with falling leaves on the track ...in fact loads and loads of them and especially around the shed. I have decided that the track to the rear of the shed will have to be in a tunnel and so the track will have to also be laid on decking to complete the layout.

So the tight corner was made up using the decking and 600m radius track corner and then the line section to it from Jungle Junction had to be raise by the thickness of the decking as did the Bailey Bridge location.

Making a tunnel that was half reasonable has taken most of day. but the results are good and only final fixing of some supports remains - more timber required !!!!

The photo shows the tunnel exit and eventually a hedge archway will cover the plastic.

Some finishing off remains but that was enough for today !!!!

The tunnel entrance as seen from above at the side of the shed.

In side the tunnel entrance showing the supports which will be enhanced as I have to consider the possibility of snow !!!

Briefly running a Home Brew loco I found the advantage of a loading gauge. The loco although built to 1/20 scale is too high to go under the tunnel supports. They will all have to be regauged!!!!

16th October 2007

Quite a bit of building has occurred in the last month including coaches, two from kits the other 4 as copies of the kits ... and still on more coach to build.

A leaf sweeper and early version as now the "head" will swivel to that the brushing action is mainly on the track even when there is a tight corner.

A bit of fun but not really successful so I bought a petrol leaf clearer !!!

New tunnel entrance / exit, and similar supports exist all along the tunnel.
Sunday 25th November 2007

The tunnel entrance improved supports have been put in place

Tunnel exit the supports have been widened as there was only a 2mm gap between coach and tunnel support which had been causing de-railments. The gap is now of the order of 80mm
