Day 7 -- The re-painting continues
The under side of the roof has been
painted white. Hammerite do not do a cream !!!
The inside of the cab is painted white. |
The Boiler cladding for use in the
cab has been painted white
The buffer beams and foot plate have been painted respectively red and black. | |
The final bit of cleaning ready for
the final part of the painting was achieved this evening.
The inner part of the frames now can be painted as can the water tanks. The front supports of the water tanks have been lower by 5mm to make a better look to the loco as the rear springs are fully compressed to enable the Hackworth gear to run more smoothly.
