Building of the Sweet Pea Tender

1st October 2020

The two parcels of materials arrived from Blackgates yesterday and very well packed they were too.

and all the brass sheets !!
7th October 2020

I started by marking out where holes need to be drilled measuring all holes from one side to enhance accuracy. Normally marking fluid would be applied but the laser cut material in the kit had also been laser marked where the holes had to be. So the marked positions were centre punched.

8th October 2020

Drilled the buffer plate which will then be bolted to the matching part and drilled through

And drilled the frame plate.

9th October 2020

Today the two sections were aligned and held with engineer's clamps and two holes drill 1/8" to take two rivets to hold the position whilst drilling

Then the pairs of plates were drilled through using a drop of cutting fluid in each hold.

and then the buffers beams

10th October 2020

At the start there were two machine clamps in place and the two holes for the nuts and bolts were drilled and then bolts placed and clamps remover

Clamp removed and two bolts fitted
First frame completed
Now both completed.
